Architectural Excellence : The modular classroom building was laid out in three equal sized 22'x28' classrooms and the overall size is 28'x66'. The building was designed to blend into Bucks County Community College's campus and their existing modular buildings. The interior has 26 oz. commercial carpet, drywall and ceiling taped, spackled and painted on site. The exterior has horizontal vinyl siding and a 50 year asphalt fiberglass shingle roof, stucco skirting and a gable porch roof.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : In order to meet the customers requirement for an energy efficient building, the floor, wall and ceiling insulation was increased. The use of vinyl double insulated windows met the customer's aesthetic requirement as well as adding to the energy effeciency of the building. Since not all the classrooms are used at the same time, Mobilease design built a mechanical system which allowed for programming and operation of each of the individual classrooms independently of the others. With the permanent installation of the modular, a cost effective measure taken was to delete the steel chassis and to go with a "true" modular system.

Technical Innovation : In order to meet the customers requirement for an 8/12 roof pitch and address the limitation for over the road shipping, Mobilease designed a hinge roof system which was raised by crane once the modular was in place and finished on site. As an added feature, Mobilease incorporated a gable porch roof to the design for a seamless transition. The modulars were set on a perimeter c.m.u. foundation wall with concrete spread footer to address the extreme slope of the site. This also allowed the use of crawl space to house the mechanical system to maximize the customer classroom floor space and equipment operation noise issues.
