Additional Info

Award Winner : M Space Holdings LLC

Architectural Excellence : The building had an overall footprint of 117’6” x 100’0” and contained 44 offices of various sizes as well as common areas. The interior featured vinyl covered gypsum wall board, suspended acoustical ceilings, carpeted floors (VCT in common areas), solid wood doors and hardware that corresponded to the College standard.
The exterior featured smooth hardipanel vertical siding, aluminum store front entry doors, EPDM roofing and an architectural fabric awning over the entrance.

The office building is located on campus and efforts were made to provide a building with an appropriate color scheme which would blend in with the remainder of the buildings on Campus. The award was for a 48 month lease, and the College was sensitive to the comfort concerns of its administrative personnel. The design attempted to provide the employees with work areas which were a significant upgrade from what they were currently using in older buildings.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The College was very sensitive to maintenance and utility costs. To keep utility costs down, the building incorporated electric AC with gas heat, and included a double store front entry way thereby acting as an air gap to keep heat in and cold out. In an effort to reduce maintenance costs, materials were selected that were readily available in case replacement may be needed. All hardware, fire alarm and communications systems were identical to what was used throughout the remainder of the College.
The building was designed for ease of removal upon the completion of the lease.
