Architectural Excellence : The Bogota Board of Education’s administrative staff was in need of a new work space to accommodate their 8-10 employees. This work space was to utilize the same footprint as their previous building which had recently been condemned. Using two modular units, Williams Scotsman provided over 1900 sq.ft. of new space that consisted of a reception area, 7 offices, a break area and separate women’s and men’s restrooms. All offices are interconnected using a main corridor. The building features a pitched roof with a cupola to not only comply with local ordinances but to blend seamlessly into the neighborhood as well. The building is located across from the local high school, which is a high traffic area, and next to a residential home.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : By utilizing modular construction, the BOE was able to get their operations up and running much faster than with traditional construction. We were able to construct the new building off site while the demolition of the old building was taking place and the site was being prepared. This offered significant time-savings and allowed the project to be completed within the tight deadline.

Technical Innovation : The BOE’s previous office building had been condemned. They chose to go with modular construction because they needed to get their operations back online as soon as possible. By choosing modular construction, the BOE was able to utilize paralleled scheduling of the modular buildings off site construction with the demolition of the existing building. Once the demo was complete, we were able to move in during the adjacent high schools spring break, set up a staging area and get the building installed while school was not in session. The location of the building created a limited staging area so expedited construction was critical to completing this project successfully and with no disturbance to the high school.
