AECL Nuclear Power Control Room
Additional Info
Award Winner : Provincial Partitions, Ltd.
Architectural Excellence : This prototype modular building was developed to provide a remote nuclear control room for a CANDU nuclear facility. The structure was built using two separate trailer foundations. The control room is outfitted with a bank of specialized sophisticated computers enabling the technicians to control all aspects of the Nuclear Reactors from this spacious remote modular office. It is currently being tested - later to be shipped to the final destination in New Brunswick, Canada.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : This unique modular portable solution enables AECL, the end client, to construct, test, and meet all end user requirements before shipping to the final destination. This flexibility in the process is critical for the Nuclear power industry.
