COMPANY OVERVIEW

We are a leading modular manufacturer and contractor specializing in offsite construction solutions for commercial, educational, healthcare, and multifamily projects. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Plant Manager will oversee the overall operations of our manufacturing facility, including production of modular buildings and management of personnel responsible for material purchasing, plant safety, maintenance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. This leadership role requires a blend of technical expertise, people management skills, and team development to ensure the end product meets client and project specifications within the company's manufacturing capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and manage a diversified team of department managers and skilled craftsmen

• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and continuous improvement

• Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities

• Interact with company leadership on operations and topics related to manufacturing

Production Oversight & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all manufacturing outputs comply with building designs, industry standards, and client requirements

• Review weekly schedules with production foremen to ensure timeframes are met

• Implement and maintain construction standards, workflows, and best practices to optimize efficiency and quality

Project Coordination & Communication

• Collaborate with project managers, site superintendents, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of in-plant and field-performed construction processes

• Monitor project timelines and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders

• Address and resolve design-related issues promptly with in-house design teams to minimize project delays

Process Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to streamline manufacturing processes and reduce costs through standardization and automation

• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in modular construction

• Implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and product quality

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all required documentation for regulatory compliance is accurate, complete, and properly submitted and archived through coordination with the in-plant QA Manager

• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits when required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Degree in Industrial Management, Business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred but not required

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles within the modular or prefabricated building industry preferred

• Proven track record of managing multiple people and teams and delivering projects on time and within budget

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Word and Excel

• Ability to read building plans and interpret specifications

• Strong understanding of modular construction methods and principles

• Basic understanding of safety requirements for a manufacturing environment

Soft Skills

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods to perform plant and yard walk-throughs during hot and cold weather when required

• Ability to sit and perform tasks at a computer workstation

• Occasional visits to other manufacturing facilities and construction sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Ability to work regular shift hours of 6:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and overtime when required
