Position Overview:

As a Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) at Prefab Logic Engineering, you will be a key player in driving the design and execution of complex building projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Detailed Building Design: Perform and direct others in designing lighting, power systems, HVAC power, single-line diagrams, lighting controls, fire alarms, communications, security, and related engineering calculations.
  • Technical Guidance and Training: Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, ensuring adherence to design standards and quality control procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that designs comply with federal, state, and local codes and maintain a high standard of quality control throughout the design process.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor junior staff and contribute to their growth within the discipline and the firm.
  • Client Relationships: Grow and foster relationships with clients, contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence in engineering design.
  • Support for Fort Worth Office: For candidates in the Fort Worth, Texas area, additional responsibilities include collaborating with sales staff to create proposals, meeting with clients to assess their design needs, and managing the local design team in collaboration with the Nampa, Idaho headquarters.

This position requires in-office work at our Nampa, Idaho, or Fort Worth, Texas locations, with flexibility for remote work and periodic on-site visits to the Nampa office as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Certification: Professional Engineering (PE) license. Candidates with an EIT certification may be considered if they can obtain their PE license within the first six months of employment.
  • Experience:
    • 4+ years of building design experience.
    • Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.
    • Experience filling the role of project engineer on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Code Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry codes, including the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code (NFPA 72), Life Safety Code (NFPA 101), International Building Code (IBC), and IEEE Standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fire Alarm Design: Working knowledge of fire alarm design and installation.
  • Modular Construction: Experience with modular construction.
  • Team Management: Experience managing two or more project team members.
  • Construction Administration: Experience reviewing submittals and responding to construction administration requests for information.
  • Energy Efficiency: Understanding of California Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

  • Project Experience: Comprehensive knowledge and multi-discipline experience in planning, designing, and constructing large-scale projects.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Ability to be a flexible team player and adapt to changing project requirements.

Compensation:

$95,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
