General Manager

Sunbelt Modular

Position Objective: The General Manager is responsible for the full operational, financial, and

strategic performance of the manufacturing Plant. The role oversees Plant production, supply chain,

quality, safety, and workforce to deliver high quality buildings on time and within budget. Responsible

for driving operational excellence across all phases of production which ensuring alignment with

company objectives and client expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

ï‚· Develop, direct, evaluate, lead, and manage the following to ensure the achievement of the

goals and objectives established for the factory:

o Drafting Manager

o Purchasing Manager

o Production Manager

o Quality Assurance Manager

o Accounting Manager (Reports to CFO)

o Sales Manager (Reports to Vice President of Sales)

ï‚· Coordinate the activities of the various departments to ensure a unified and efficient

response to challenges, opportunities, projects, and problems

ï‚· Prepare the production schedule to direct and focus the activities of the entire Plant team

ï‚· Take actions necessary to provide the appropriate manufacturing support to achieve the

annual, quarterly, and monthly sales objectives

ï‚· Consult with sales/estimating to make certain we are working toward achieving the sales

objectives, by eliminating communication and processing problems, and to ensure that the

factory is meeting customer expectations and needs

ï‚· Establish production rates to meet contractual completion dates, supports the

sales/estimating activities by providing competitive delivery dates, and at the same time, to

meet the profit, quality, and service goals of the company

ï‚· Work closely with production to ensure the factory has the necessary capacity, controls, and

resources to achieve optimum efficiencies

ï‚· Approve, develop, and review policies and procedures which cross-departmental lines which

may have a significant impact on the factory operation

ï‚· Orchestrate the factory response to critical delivery, quality, and service challenges

ï‚· Motivate the factory staff to continuously improve the operations of the factory

ï‚· Conduct weekly meetings with managers to ensure common objectives and focus and to

review and act on critical issues

ï‚· Evaluate and analyze financial statements prepared by accounting to identify and address

areas for profit improvement

ï‚· Approve, evaluate, and review wage and salary increases in accordance with established

policies and profit goals

ï‚· Prepares weekly reports to management

ï‚· Complete special projects as required

ï‚· Performs other duties and projects as assigned

This position is also expected to:

ï‚· Be very detail oriented and well organized

ï‚· Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written

ï‚· Be skilled at problem solving and analysis

ï‚· Champion a Safety first culture across the Plant; ensure Plant meets OSHA and company

safety standards

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

ï‚· High school diploma or GED

ï‚· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, manufacturing or similar a plus

ï‚· Minimum of 10 years in manufacturing, construction or modular/offsite building

ï‚· Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role managing plant operations or large-scale

production

ï‚· Strong knowledge of commercial construction systems

ï‚· Proven experience managing P&L and driving operational performance

ï‚·

Preferred Skills

ï‚· Experience in modular, prefabrication or industrialized construction

Job Requirements

ï‚· Able to successfully pass a criminal background check and credit check (following a

conditional offer of employment)

ï‚· Work in a manufacturing environment with frequent temperature and environmental

changes and loud noises

ï‚· Occasional travel
