Key Accountabilities:

  • Use cranes, rigging and hoists to load, unload modules for both shipping and receiving.
  • Transport Modules to various locations within the facility.
  • Secure Modules for transportation within Fero facilities.
  • Maintain yard, refueling heaters, welders and equipment and ensuring timbers, stands and equipment are properly setup, cleaned and stored.
  • Set up frames within the yard as needed.
  • Operate and manage heavy transport and lifting equipment.
  • Collaborate with Production teams to define plans prior to execution as needed, ensuring tasks are executed effectively, safely and timely.
  • Proactively identify issues that may impact production schedule, safety or quality and notify Supervisors and Production Manager.
  • Adhere to production schedules, communicating and updating teams involved of any changes as needed.
  • Document and report on completed tasks, keeping accurate records of work performed in Fieldwire and 4S systems.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by observing, following standards and procedures, and complying with regulations and codes.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • Knowledge and usage of measuring, hand and power tools.
  • Certification in Forklift operation.
  • Proven experience with crane operation required, certification will be an asset.
  • Ability to establish load capacities and distribution, lifting points and equipment limits.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with MS Office and computer applications, familiar with Fieldwire and 4S will be an asset.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use
  • Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs
  • Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors
  • Working at heights
  • Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
