Description: Engineering Manager
An Engineering Manager oversees the design process for the creative portion of the project, development the state submittal package, outsources engineering calcs, submits stamped plans to the state/s, works with department to develop shop drawings, works with production department to ensure products are in compliance with designs and answers questions, ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
Engineering Manager has a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Managing teams: Engineering Manager leads and motivates team of internal and external designers, engineers, and architects.
- Ensuring quality: Engineering Manager ensures that designs are high quality, easy to understand, and meet project specifications.
- Meeting deadlines: Engineering Manager ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborating with clients: Engineering Manager works with clients to ensure that their expectations are met.
- Maintaining documentation: Engineering Manager keeps thorough documentation of the design, engineering, and print process.
- Keeping up with regulations: Engineering Manager stays up to date with changing building legislation and codes of practice.
- Reviewing designs: Engineering Managers review designs with health and safety in mind.
- Resolving issues: Engineering Managers resolve design/engineering-related issues and implement modifications to meet project requirements.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in structural or mechanical engineering, architecture or business; experience may substitute for education.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with any of the following software and systems: Revit, AutoCAD,
- A collaborator and problem solver
- Prior experience in a similar role with transferable skills
- A leader in project design, engineering and negotiation
- Will strive for organization transformation
- Strict attention to detail and prioritization capabilities
