Position Overview:

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Prefab Logic Engineering, you will start your career in a dynamic environment that emphasizes learning, growth, and the opportunity to work on innovative building projects. You will support senior engineers in the design of electrical systems while gaining hands-on experience in a variety of project types. Your initial responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in Detailed Building Design: Work under the guidance of senior engineers to design lighting, power systems, HVAC power, single-line diagrams, lighting controls, fire alarms, communications, security, and related engineering calculations.
  • Support Quality Assurance: Ensure designs adhere to our design standards and comply with industry standards and federal, state, and local codes.
  • Participate in Learning and Development: Engage in continuous learning, keeping up with industry advancements and best practices. Contribute to refining our design standards and technical documentation for our SharePoint Knowledge Base.
  • Grow with the Team: Participate in mentorship opportunities, gradually assuming more responsibility for project execution, design oversight, and documentation.

This position requires in-office work at our Nampa, Idaho, or Fort Worth, Texas locations, fostering collaboration and team integration.

Career Progression:

As you grow in this role, you will develop the skills needed to:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) (1 to 4 years): Progress to an EIT role, where you will take on more complex project responsibilities and deepen your technical expertise.
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) (4+ years): After gaining sufficient experience and obtaining your PE license, move into the role of a Licensed Electrical Engineer, where you will oversee projects, provide technical guidance, and serve as the signing engineer on assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience: 0 to 2 years of building design experience.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Revit and Bluebeam.
  • Code Knowledge: Basic understanding of industry codes, including the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and International Building Code (IBC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Building Design: Experience with or interest in building design.
  • Modular Construction: Exposure to or interest in modular construction.

  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing clarity and directness.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

Compensation:

$65,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
