We are looking for a Design Coordinator, with commercial project experience, to join our team and play a lead role in the design and coordination of our modular construction projects. This role is responsible for creating, managing, and reviewing BIM models and drawings using Revit and other tools, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the design deliverables. Additionally, the Design Coordinator will collaborate with our internal and external teams across different disciplines and locations and communicate effectively with our clients and stakeholders

About the Company:

Stack Modular is an international manufacturer of large-scale steel frame modular construction projects. We have three modular manufacturing facilities in Shanghai, China, and local offices located in Irvine, California, USA and Vancouver, BC, Canada. The Stack team includes skilled designers, engineers, project managers, tradespeople, and logistics experts.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage BIM models and drawings using Revit and other tools, and ensure compliance with project standards and specifications
  • Use and create Revit families, issue and control large document packages, and manage 6-8 related/linked models
  • Experience with ACC/BIM 360 collaboration tools
  • Create and review details and shop-level drawings, and swiftly create sections, 3Ds, schedules, and diagrams
  • Coordinate and run project drawing review sessions with our Vancouver and Chinese design teams, as well as outside consultants and clients
  • Manage the design of construction projects in the residential/commercial sector, preferably with modular construction experience
  • Understand and apply construction schedules, trades, scopes of work, and North American building codes
  • Travel and work in Vancouver, BC and Shanghai, China when necessary (typically one to two 1-week trips per year)

About You:

  • University degree or college certificate in Architecture/Construction/Engineering/Design related field
  • Fluent/Expert in BIM/Revit, with at least 5 years of experience managing the design of construction projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and an ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with technical and operational language
  • Detail oriented, with strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Proactive by nature, with a desire to push the company and modular construction in new and exciting directions

This position includes a competitive salary, a work-related expense account, favorable project-by-project bonus structure and a Chinese work permit if necessary. The successful candidate will report directly to the North American Design Manager.
