Business Development Manager

Modular Genius

Summary:  The Business Development Manager will support the company’s mission by managing modular building accounts, prospecting sales through a variety of mediums, including customer interaction, marketing, quoting projects, follow-ups and closing business to orders.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  1. Mentor staff through all phases of Business Development.
  2. Prospect through means such as web leads, marketing lists, and referrals.   Detailed prospecting goals will be determined and provided at the beginning of each year.
  3. Follow up on qualified leads with a visit to the customer presenting Modular Building collateral, displaying capabilities and ability to do turn-key projects.
  4. Follow up on all calls and quotes daily using Sage system as a contact file and time management system.
  5. Prepare proposals/quotations according to company guidelines using established forms and binder to produce a presentation to the customer.  
  6. Negotiate contracts with prospective customers to be responsive to their needs and to allow a good profit margin.
  7. Establish marketing plan and follow it throughout the year to establish new markets and penetrate existing ones.
  8. Determine credit worthiness of customers and work to get them financed.
  9. Work with factories and subcontractors to establish a loyal base of potential resources for job quoting and contracting.
  10. Process all necessary paperwork, passing it on to the appropriate personnel.
  11. Maintain excellent customer service at all times with existing and new accounts.

 

Additional responsibilities:

  1. Assist service with customer requests.
  2. Assist administration personnel with project orders, preconstruction, and follow-up, etc.
  3. Assist with project management and site supervision

 

Miscellaneous responsibilities:

  1. Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
  2. Subject to the attached “Modular Genius Inc. Organizational Work Flow & Departments” and “Modular Genius – Employee Delineation of Responsibility” Documents.

Education / experience:  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred with a minimum of five (5) years of sales experience preferably in modular building and/or construction. Construction experience a plus.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.  Experience in Sage-Timberline or similar construction software is preferred.   Candidate must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and assignments.  Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships is required.  Must be self-motivated and have the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
