HVAC Scholarship| Modular Construction Education Foundation

Modular Construction Education Foundation is pleased to provide students in heating and air conditioning (HVAC) programs thanks to the dedicated partners of the commercial modular construction industry. Specifically, these scholarships provide financial support to advance student's education and cover the registration costs for students to attend the MBI annual convention and tradeshow called World of Modular (WOM). WOM is typically held in March or April in convention cities like Las Vegas, Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio.

Maury Tiernan has generously committed $30,000 towards the education of deserving students pursuing a mechanical engineering degree. Maury has a distinguished career as Bard Product Manager at Geary Pacific Supply and is a recognized leader in the commercial modular building industry. Maury is a past president of MBI, past chair of the MBI Educational foundation, recipient of the MBI Outstanding Achievement Award, and MBI Hall of Fame inductee. Maury has written dozens of articles and taught many MBI courses on the topic of heating and air conditioning as it relates to modular construction.

In 2022, Geary Pacific Supply announced it will make an annual $10,000 gift to the MBI Foundation to continue the scholarship indefinitely. Geary Pacific was founded by Patrick Geary in 1961.

Eligibility:

Applicants to any school may apply, though they should be pursuing certificates or degrees directly related to heating and air conditioning. Verification that students are pursuing HVAC training or education is required. Students do not need to be enrolling in their first year of school.

Requirements

Students that are awarded scholarships will be required to:

- attend a minimum number of educational sessions at WOM;

- participate in a networking event at WOM with industry participants; and

- provide a written summary of their experience at the conclusion of the event
